An Interview with Dr. Tory R. Lindh on Root Canal Treatment.

Dr. Tory R. Lindh is a dentist and has answered some common questions that Bizymoms visitors have about Root Canal Treatment.

Q.  What is root canal treatment?

A.  In short, a root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.

Q.  How much will the procedure cost?

A.  The cost of a root canal can range between $600 and $1200. There are numerous variables which will determine the cost of a root canal such as the number of canals a tooth has and how insurance participates. As with any procedure, a consultation with Dr.Lindh prior to the procedure will allow us to disclose the costs associated with the individuals need.

Q.  Will the tooth need any special care or additional treatment?

A.  The final step will involve further restoration of the tooth. Because a tooth that needs a root canal often is one that has a large filling or extensive decay or other weakness, a crown, crown and post, or other restoration often needs to be placed on the tooth to protect it, prevent it from breaking, and restore it to full function.

Q.  Are there any alternative treatments for root canal?

A.  The only alternative to having a root canal is to have the tooth extracted. Of course, this is not recommended. Each tooth in your mouth plays a very vital role so to lose one tooth often means an even greater restorative process to bring you to full function.

Q.  How can we contact Dr. Lindh if we have further questions?
