With the cost of living spiraling, every housewife and mom is trying their best to cut cost and expenditure, and save money whenever possible. Eating out is costly and you tend to pay double what you would spend if meals were cooked at home. As such, many moms are looking at every possible way of preparing food at home. Preparation of food at home from scratch is time consuming work.

 

Twenty four hours of the day is not enough for a mom, with so much to do around the house. With cooking, cleaning, dusting, doing laundry, vacuuming, attending to children; the list is never ending. In addition to this, you also have to do the grocery shopping and see that your fridge and larder are filled up. So making sure that your family has a nutritious and healthy meal is a tiring job. Day in day out, planning and thinking what you should lay on the table is mind boggling at times, and it often involves additional work, as you might find that the menu you have planned out for your luncheon or dinner cannot be prepared because you may not have the required ingredients at home. Thus it involves another visit to the grocery store. Not only does it take your time, it becomes another task that you have to do, however tired you may be. Also, sometimes, you end up purchasing stuff that you had not intended to buy on such extra visits, thereby incurring additional unwanted expenses. And sometimes you are tempted to go in for take away meals, and the money that you have been saving starts thinning again due to this.

 

By planning your weekly menu, you save time and cost. With menus planned well ahead you will not run short of ingredients, nor will you be wasting time thinking what should be prepared. As you plan out the menu, you can always introduce new quick and easy meals, as well. This is an incentive for busy moms, who are aware in advance the routine of work she has in store for the day, and the time left in hand to prepare a meal. It is when you are not prepared on what to cook for a meal that you end up spending much more than you have anticipated, and your efforts to save money are often lost. Once you have your menu planned, write your shopping list accordingly. By keeping one day of the week for your marketing, you are able to purchase all that you need for your home with one visit to the supermarket. This helps you to maintain a healthy diet and also well balanced meals for your family, with less effort and stress.

 

For all you busy moms, this is a wonderful arrangement to spend less time in the kitchen, and more time with your family, while also having the satisfaction of knowing that you are an achiever.
