| Cooking like many other things in life has its ways and means. Different countries have their own type of dishes and ways and methods to cook these dishes. Some of these dishes have been adapted over time and reached other countries but some have remained as traditional dishes. All these dishes have one thing in common. They all have a special unique technique in which they are made.
Adding spices are one of the main ingredients when creating a good dish. There are many spices and from these spices some are more commonly used than others. Take for example salt. Salt is one of the most commonly used spices in the world. It ads flavor to food and transforms the taste immediately. Adding the right amount of salt is imperative, too much and none would be able to eat it and if there is too little then the proper flavor of the dish will not come out. So adding the right amount of the spice is very important.
Baking is another important technique used in cooking. There are many foods that require to be baked before being eaten. This again requires quite an amount of skill and experience. Take for example bread baking. The dough needs to be precise in order for the bread to be good. There are many techniques and many types of bread and all of them have their own unique dough and technique. Once the dough is all done then the bread needs to be baked. This again requires quite an amount of experience. Knowing exactly when to take out the bread from the oven will make the difference between a well baked bread and a half or over baked bread.
Roasting is another cooking method. Mostly types of meat can be roasted before being eaten. Here again there are many techniques and methods of roasting. Spices are very important when roasting. Some meats are marinated before it is roasted. This will add in flavor and will make the meat taste better and softer. Some roasting methods require roasting pastes. First the meat is covered in the paste then the meat is roasted with the paste around it. This gives a different taste and flavor. Like this there are so many roasting methods.
These are but only a few cooking techniques out of many. Some other cooking techniques are braising, grilling, brining, frying, deglazing and so on. Mastering all these techniques do not happen over night. It requires dedication, effort and skill. Once mastered, cooking a great meal will be as easy as eating a great meal itself.
