Ideas which will make your cooking faster and better

Cooking requires lots of dedication and effort. Some even go far as saying that cooking is a type of meditation. That cooking will make a person feel calm and relaxed. This is of course true only if you are cooking at your own leisure. But it does have some truth behind the story.

If you are cooking for a family dinner or a special occasion or if you are simply out of time then there are some techniques that will help you cook faster and better. The first and best thing you should do when you know you have to cook is to start early. This will keep you out of the unwanted pressure of cooking in a hurry and getting everything correct at the same time. But some times it is true that an individual might be late and still need to cook in time for dinner (or what ever the meal or occasion).

Since you know you have to cook, make sure that you prepare all your vegetables and meat at an earlier hour or date. Do all the preparations required and store away the vegetables and meat in a fridge. This will save you time because you will not be cleaning up vegetables at the last moment. If you are simply making dinner on a week day keep it simple. Just prepare some easy dishes which do not require lots of effort and time. Keep all the big and fancy dishes for the week end. This will save you time and during the weekend when you have time you will be able to cook a good dish which will of course require time and effort.

Don't experiment when you are out of time. Experimentation in cooking takes time and it can always fail. So if you are cooking with not much time left then don't do dishes that you don't know. Even if you have planned on trying it out on that day, if you are out of time postpone the dish. Your family members will enjoy a good known dish rather than a bad new dish.

When you are cooking always get all the ingredients and all you need in order before you start to cook. This will help you to save time and it will help you to add the required ingredient at the correct time. How many times have you looked for the salt while cooking and how many times have you added a spice after the cooking is over, just because you forgot to add it when you were cooking. Getting all the ingredients and spices and getting organized before cooking will help you to cook faster and better.
