An Interview with Dr. Mark J. Warner on Lumineers

Dr. Mark J. Warner is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Lumineers.

Q. What are Lumineers?

A. Lumineers are a brand name veneer (ceramic covering of the front of the tooth, to change color, shape and position). In certain situations Lumineers can be used with little or no removal of tooth structure.

Q. How are Lumineers different from traditional veneers?

A. Lumineers are different than standard veneers in that they are thinner and may not require removal of tooth structure.

Q. Is the Lumineers procedure painful?

A. Lumineers are not painful in the situations where tooth structure removal is not needed.

Q. Can one get Lumineers instead of braces?

A. Lumineers and standard veneers can sometimes be used to accomplish "instant orthodontics" by restoring the teeth to look straight even though they aren't.

Q. How long will Lumineers last?

A. Lumineers have a good life span, but it is hard to say exactly how long they last. It depends a lot on how well one takes care of them and what the patients bite forces are like.

Q. Can Lumineers be taken off if I want them removed?

A. When Lumineers are placed without the need to remove or reshape teeth, they can be removed and the teeth returned to the original condition.

Q. How much do Lumineers cost?

A. The cost of Lumineers can vary from $800 to over a $1000.

Q. How to contact Dr. Warner if we have further questions?

A. I can be reached at (707) 422-7633 or at mwarnerdds@pacbell.net.
