Valerie Brown is licensed with the California Board of Acupuncture and holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine issued by the National Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
She graduated with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in New Mexico. While working towards her Master\\\'s Degree, she interned at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Sichuan Province of China.
While in China, Valerie was able to work with staff doctors in the university\\\'s affiliated hospital and administer in-patient treatments. This was one of the most eye-opening experiences in her education.
With over 11 years of clinical experience, Valerie has practiced in Santa Fe, NM, Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles. While in Atlanta, she owned and operated one of the largest practices in the city. Her practice, Acupuncture Works, was voted #1 in Atlanta\\\'s weekly lifestyle paper, Creative Loafing. She worked extensively with Reproductive Endocrinologists in the area, in order to assist in fertility treatments and procedures. After she became pregnant with her son, Valerie sold her practice and decided to relocate to Los Angeles to be closer to friends and family.
Valerie originally became interested in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine after experiencing miraculous results from her digestive disorders which were "untreatable" with conventional medicine. Since then, she has dedicated her practice to resolving health problems before patients enter the cycle of dependence on prescription drugs and reliance on drastic measures such as surgery. "I find that in order to cure a problem, the source must be treated."
