Shad Kane Profile

Shad Spearman Kane is a Retired Honolulu Police Department Metropolitan Lieutenant with 34 years of service.  Served as a patrol officer, a motorcycle officer, a gambling and narcotics supervisor, a police detective, researched and established the HPD Mounted Horse Unit.  Shad was born on February 23, 1945, Honolulu, Hawai’i. He graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1964 and acquired his BBA from University of Hawaii in 1976, and proudly received the Masters in Public Administration from Central Michigan University in 1980.

He married Valerie Marie Kane and lives in Kapolei, HI. His Hobbies are Horseback Riding; Water Sports; Native Plants and Feather Work (Kalaikahili).
