Diane Cardaci Profile
Diane Cardaci has been making art as long as she can remember. Growing up in New York City, she studied drawing, painting and illustration at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts, Parson’s School of Design and the New York Academy of Art. While still in New York, she began using her highly developed skills in realistic drawing and painting, working as a Natural Science Illustrator. With the birth of her daughter, Diane’s interest turned to portraiture and Diane began a portrait business at home. Diane is a Signature member of the American Society of Portrait Artists and has been a contributing writer to the organization’s publications.
Diane has a strong passion for passing on the skills of classical realism, and so has devoted much of her time to education. She directed her own art school in West Palm Beach, Florida for four years. She is the author of two art instruction books for Walter Foster, Realistic Textures, and Flowers and Botanicals. She currently is working on a third book for the company.
Diane splits her time between Florida and Central Italy. While in Italy, Diane finds inspiration exploring with her husband the many small villages of Umbria and Tuscany. She continues to study the artistic heritage of the area, and will soon be conducting art workshops there.
Diane’s work hangs in private, public and corporate collections, and has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally.
