Back to School It’s that time of year again --- hectic schedules, last minute purchases, pressure from all directions and we women put our needs at the bottom of an endless list. We’ll take care of ourselves … when … the kids are in school … when … our husbands schedule isn’t so demanding… when … our mother returns from visiting a friend … when …the dog has been walked…and on, and on. It is our curse! If we don’t have legitimate reasons, we make some up!
Well, I want to get you to think about yourself FIRST. Remember when the flight attendants review the safety features of an aircraft; they instruct you to place your air mask on before you assist your children…
At this busy time when everything is chaotic, take time to unwind and replenish your energy and relax your mind. The perfect way to do that is to have a massage, facial or pedicure at your favorite spa. Turn your phone off, get a babysitter and “give yourself permission” to enjoy an hour or so every couple of weeks. When you leave the spa you will be revived and have a completely new perspective on everything.
The benefits to you, your partner and your family are huge. When you are relaxed and rejuvinateded, your ability to deal effectively and efficiently with your day-to-day situations increases 100 fold. Add a time for meditation and exercise to your routine and you are ready to take on the world.
