“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don't know how or why. All great discoveries are made this way.” -Albert Einstein Finding lost objects requires a shift in our perspective. As a designer, I tend to view events and circumstances from an entirely different perspective than most. When I taught design and color theory my mantra was, “You cannot solve a problem until you define it.” Life can be described as a puzzle to be solved. That is why I had such a smooth transition from design and color theory into the field of medical intuition. I look at people in the same way: their tissue issues are just problems to be solved. As a psychic, I am often asked to find things. If you ever saw the movie “Michael” with John Travolta, people often gave him requests, and he would respond, “That’s not my area.” Well, locating lost things is NOT my area. Recently, however, a friend asked me about her beloved dog that was “lost.” I could not “tune in” to locate her dog. Since I did not feel a “thud,” I believed at least he was alive. (If I “feel” a thud, then I’m convinced they are not alive.) Since that’s all the information I “received,” I felt a bit defeated. I then remembered from my Reiki teacher that you could use Reiki to help find lost objects. (Reiki is an ancient healing modality that can be used “hands-on” or for distance healing.) This method has worked in the past for me, so I put my friend’s dog on my Reiki list and envisioned her dog showing up at her house. Meanwhile, nothing transpired, and I just took a deep breath and moved on. Now, let’s make a shift forward to a business trip in New York City a few days later. While on the way to a scheduled media tour interview, a young woman accompanying me lost her cell phone. It was deduced (although finding things are not my area!) that she must have left her phone in the cab. To her dismay, it was gone. Rather than having her focus on her fear, I had her envision it being placed back in her hand. It only took a moment to convince her to shift her energy. I reminded her that there were more good people in this world than NOT good people. She borrowed a cell phone and repeatedly called her number over the next half hour. Yes, someone finally answered it, and yes, she got her phone handed back to her! Now, how can these stories help you? How often do we focus all of our attention on finding? I know I do! I want to see where the lost object is and immediately open the box or look in the drawer and find it there! Yes, a “parlor trick” created for my own ego. However, by switching perspective and placing the emphasis on feeling what it’s like to get the object back is the key! It is the same as manifesting anything else in our life. It is about getting out of our own way and allowing it to come back to us WITHOUT CONDITION. Everyone out there who may be looking for an object may be doing it backwards! I then started to think about the other times lost objects or things had “shown up” after using the Reiki technique. You cannot limit yourself or the possibility of the universe by putting conditions on where it is or how you find it. It is merely about seeing yourself with it and the joy you feel when you get it back. In a sense it finds you--you don’t find it! When I returned from New York, I found out that my friend’s dog was back home--a dog that was gone almost a month! The dog showed up, tired and hungry, but finally back home. I can’t take any credit for this event, only to allow her to know that I thought he was alive and give her hope of finding him. The rest was up to my friend and her dog. By choosing to look for a lost object from a different perspective, I believe, is a gift. Another example of this successful technique happened while traveling with a friend. We had gone through security at the airport, and it was almost time to board the plane. She could not find her boarding pass. Everything was dumped: purse, luggage, pockets. No boarding pass was found. Fear and panic set in, and of course, what you fear the most, you create! I suggested to her to take a deep breath and to visualize the boarding pass in her hand instead of focusing on fear and panic. It wasn’t two minutes later that an airport employee walked up to her and handed her the lost boarding pass! She had left it at the security check. The Law of Attraction works on every level! Taking a deep breath and releasing the fear really can help you find what is lost! Just like one of my favorite quotes, “Pray to God, but keep rowing.” It is important to retrace steps and check the obvious, just don’t give in to panic and fear. Use your visualization in the process of your search. I don’t feel a person needs to be Reiki “certified” to get it this method to work. Just take a quiet moment and visualize it coming back into your life. Getting out of your own way means you should not try to orchestrate the event down to the specifics. Just visualize yourself already having the lost item, just like the cell phone, the dog, or the boarding pass in the examples provided. ________________________ Catherine Poole is a well-respected, internationally known psychic/author and speaker.
