It's the beginning of a new school year and it’s going to be a fantastic year because as an English Language Learner myself I'm certainly excited and looking forward to this school year. As an experienced Spanish and American Sign Language interpreter, this year in re-entering the Trilingual interpreting scene I’d like to share some writing tips with those individuals seeking writing and speaking tips for improvement in the communications arena. Having been around and working with children over 36 years I've got some golden nuggets to share in regards to writing, and today I'd like to focus on parts of speech as part of grammar when it comes to writing or speaking. Are you ready? Here we go... Parts of speech are classified in conventional form as: 1) Nouns 2) Pronouns 3) Verbs 4) Adverbs 5) Prepositions 6) Conjunctions I'd like to start with Nouns... Nouns are words used to name a person, place or thing. For example: Maria, Minnesota, chair, table, candle, book, or tree. You name it as a person, place, or thing and it is a noun. Yes, this is very basic, but this is just the beginning of the school year. I sure hope you stick around for more as the year progresses. I'm looking forward to sharing quite a bit with you in hopes to especially encourage English Language Learners to keep moving forward to improve communication skills for success whether in writing or speaking. Yes I'm an English Language Learner myself, and for that very reason I'm encouraging others to keep moving towards improvement and look forward to providing a series in writing and English usage. Here's to success in your writing and speaking!
