| Final words on marriage, husbands and business. |
| This is such an important topic that I asked our bizy business owners to offer any last minute advice to our readers. |
|
Get your family involved in your business, even your children. Teach them about sales, budgeting, etc. Also, do not always do your business when your husband is at home. I spent hours on the computer after supper, but now I realize that was wrong. I did not give my husband the time he needed when he came home from work.

Spousal support can be a crucial thing to help you be successful in the direct sales/home-based business industry. You need to be mindful of how you talk about your business to your spouse. If you come home and say “It was a crummy show – only a couple people there…” your spouse will instantly want to fix it for you – he’ll want you to quit. But, if you have a positive attitude and say, “It was a great show! I met someone who wants to have a party next month and she knows a TON of people” He will see your excitement and be excited for you. Always find the positive in your business and share that with your spouse. It will help both of you to succeed! Liz Hawkinson, Usborne Books at Home |

| I have only been working my business a few months and I know it can take 2-4 years to really make it successful. There will be ups and downs, but if you believe in what you are doing, don’t give up. If your spouse is skeptical, show him why you believe so strongly in what you’re doing and remind him that in the end, everything you are doing is so that you can raise your family at home.
