| I never did. If I had to do it over again, I would have controlled my spending better, and not bought so many extra things like craft materials, all kinds of advertising, etc. “I should have just stuck to selling the candles.” Mary Bachert, Scent-Sations |

I do the best I can to keep my business running ‘in the black’ at all times in addition to being responsible for certain bills in my home. I pay the car insurance, phone bill, internet service, and satellite tv. I think if you can show your spouse that your business is making a difference for your family – even if you are just paying one small bill – that is a tangible thing that he can see, then he will be much more supportive to you. Sometimes people feel like they need to work less to make their spouse happier about their business. I have found the opposite to be true – if you work a more, consistent schedule (like 1 or 2 nights a week) he is more likely to take your business seriously (and so are you!). You will also be building a team and providing more income and opportunity for your family.
