The World of VAs

I get asked all the time, ‘What is the best work at home job out there’, ‘Do you have any ideas of what I can do to make money working from home’, etc, etc.. My answer is become a Virtual Assistant, it’s a fancy name for someone who works from home using their skills to help businesses of all kinds. As a VA you can use almost any skill there is to utilize.

Have you ever considered stepping into the world of Virtual Assistance? Okay, let me rephrase that. Have you ever considered becoming a Virtual Assistant? Whether you have or haven’t, Virtual Assistants are one of the largest growing home business markets in the world. More and more people today are looking to work from home, as well as more and more businesses, specifically small businesses need Virtual Assistants. One reason, being that it will help reduce their costs if they have a VA rather than someone in office. Businesses are always looking for ways to lower their costs and you the VA are their answer. There will be no Insurance, overhead, etc for them to worry about and you can be their goldmine.

Can YOU, someone with no skills become a Virtual Assistant? Sure you can. In fact, you may even have skills that you don’t know about or recognize as a skill. Let me give you some examples;

1) Do you like to talk on the phone? Do you sound good on the phone? If so, you probably have good phone skills. This would be a great consideration for starting an Answering Service.

2) Do you like to surf the Internet? Do you like to find things out? If so, you could start an Internet Research Service.

3) Are you the ‘Planner’ type? Enjoy planning things and events? If so, you’d make a great Planner! So start up you own Event Planner Service.

You see, those are just a small few in services that you can provide. In fact, you can even teach yourself needed skills for certain services like Writing, Proofreading and Transcription. You have many doors to choose from- it is up to you which ones you open.

One of your first steps should be deciding which services you wish to provide your clients. The best thing to do is start with one or two services, then later on when your business is grounded solidly you can expand with more services if you choose to do so. Here are a handful of services you may be interested in;

Administration, Writing (technical or creative), Proofreading, Simple website design, Newsletter distribution, Editing, Online Research, Secretarial, Transcription, Bookkeeping, Mail and Email, Data Entry, Data Processing and more!

So why should you look into becoming a Virtual Assistant? The answers are simple; You get to work from home, create your own schedules, be at home with your kids, save money in gas, no a.m./p.m. traffic, heck you can even work in your underwear all day- though I wouldn’t suggest it if you do web cam conferences J , and you communicate with your clients by email, Instant Messenger or phone.

So easily, there are many answers to why you should start your VA business. I can’t think of any reason you shouldn’t. Now it is time for you to take the next step and that is stepping right through those doors you just opened.
