Pump Up Your Tires
I As a nation, we could save 4 million gallons of gasoline every day if we all kept our tires inflated to their proper “pounds per square inch,” or psi. Individually, we’d improve our fuel economy by 3.3% and save that much more money at the pump.
You can find the psi on the inside of the driver’s side door or in the car’s driver’s manual. Check the psi every three months or so. Buy a cheap tire pressure gauge and keep it in your glove compartment for easy access. That will make it easy to check the pressure while you’re filling up your tank. If you need air, you can wheel over to the air pump and pump up your tires in no time at all.
As a rule of thumb, check your tire pressure four times a year…every time the seasons change!
