Have Fun with these Activities instead of Watching Television
It’s one of those days when you finally get fed up of that cheating boyfriend on your favourite sitcom, or the tragic news presenter or the unintelligible game show. You find that the TV frustrates you.Now that you’ve decided that the television really is an “idiot box,” have fun with these activities instead.
1. Tickle your tastebuds
Dig up your mom’s or grandmom’s old recipe book or any other recipe book and be adventurous! Test yourself with some exquisite recipe or make some well proven cookies or cupcakes and share the joy with your family and friends.
2. Dig your nose into a book
Read that book which your friends have been talking about or the one which you have been meaning to read over again for sometime now. It’s good to walk away from reality once in a while.
3. Open up your ears
Switch on the radio to your favourite music station. Sing along at the top of your lungs or snuggle up onto and listen to some classics. You could even try and learn a new song!
4. Walk out into the Great Outdoors
Go on an adventure trip to a nearby climbing spot or run onto the beach and go surfing or maybe even scuba diving!
5. Unleash your creativity
Get out the left over paints from your garage and paint a wall in your house or room. Make a collage or scrapbook of old photos of family and friends or a mobile of sea shells which you could keep or gift.
6. Dust your brain
Start goinging to that embroidery class or ball room dancing class you have been dying to go to. Learn something new! It will renew and refresh your spirit which may have gone dead while you were killing your time in front of the TV
7. It’s party time
Organize some fun get-together either just among family or friends or both. Have a small dinner party and cook on your own for everyone and have some fun board games later. Or you could organize a theme party and ask everyone to dress up!
8. Get fit
Why not go hit the tennis courts or go swimming or even bowling? This would not only keep you fit but it would help kill your time in an enjoyable manner.
9. Social Service
Go to your community centre and have a look at various groups and causes. You are likely to strike at least one which you are good at and would love to contribute to. It may look boring but once you get there you will love it!
10. Family Time
When was the last time you and your family did something fun together? Plan a family outing or get everyone to be at home one night, and play some favourite board games or go over old fotos or just relax and talk. A quiet but fun thing to do!
