An Interview with Dr. James A. Harris on Hair Transplant.

Dr. James A Harris is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. Here the Doctor has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Hair transplant.

Q.  Does hair transplant look Natural?

 A. We do provide excellent results with a natural look by using all follicular unit grafts.

Q. How long does it take to recover from hair transplant surgery?

A. Downtime is minimal, usually just a few days.

Q. What are the types of hair transplants you perform?

A. We offer both the single scar harvesting technique and follicular unit extraction or FUE.

Q. Are the options for combating hair loss in men different from women?

A. We provide solutions for men and women.  We do a complete work up, especially for women, to find the cause and treat the problem accordingly. In women with female pattern loss, a common problem is diffuse hair loss in the donor area which makes them  less suitable candidates for hair transplant but we do offer them  medical solutions such as Rogaine and  low level laser therapy (LLLT). Men are usually good candidates for surgery but also benefit from medications as well.

Q. Are there complications or risks in a hair transplant?

A. Hair transplants these days are fairly straight forward and results are great. Downtime is minimal and the procedure is without the risk of significant complications. .

Q. If a client has already had a transplant with another doctor and is disappointed with the results, can it be redone?

A. If a patient is not satisfied with previous surgery it can be corrected. A consult with a hair transplant surgeon will determine if he or she would be a candidate.
