Ohio education grants offer many options to Ohio residents

Ohio Education Grants are available for deserving students due to the commitment of the State, governmental organization, private and public sector organizations who want to make it possible for every student to reach their potential through higher education.

It is no secret that most Americans cannot afford a college degree but the nation and every state has committed to the No Child Left Behind Act and help every deserving child who aspire for higher education. Therefore free money in the form of grants are offered to deserving students who wish to achieve their educational aspirations.

The Ohio Education Grants are awarded on a need-based basis while some other awards are  merit-based. There are yet others that are awarded according to the field of study and some others will be awarded through the University they enroll in. Apart from the Ohio Education Grants, every student in Ohio is also eligible for the federal grants that are available.

Low income students are eligible for the Ohio College Opportunity grants to enable them to attend a public or private college or university in the state of Ohio. The amounts granted will be determined by the information made available to  the FAFSA process. Ohio Instructional Grant ranging from $150 to $5000 is granted to student who belong to families which have many children and dependents.

The Ohio Academic Scholarship grants of up to $2000 are granted to students with high GPAs and top ACT/SAT scores who plan to enroll at Ohio State College or University. For students who wish to pursue their studies in a private institution, the Ohio Student Choice Grant offer grants up to $900 towards tuition costs for undergraduate degrees. Student Instructional Grant award eligible part time students financial assistance through the Part-time Student Instructional Grant.

Other Ohio State Grants are offered through different minority affinities representing the African-Americans, Hispanics, Jewish as well as affinities representing religious organizations.

Ohio Education grants are awarded by way of internship and co-op to Ohio students to attract and retain their best talent.

This program has been designed by Ohio Cooperative Education Association (OCEA) with collaboration of the Ohio community, the business partners to support the co-op and internship programs throughout the state. The State has plans to spend $50 million for an year starting from 2010 and will go on for 5 years.

This program which is beneficial to student who is able to gain experience in the chosen field, it is also beneficial to employer who is able to decipher whether the students are promising enough for retention on completion of their education.
