Students in various fields of study can benefit from Georgia education grants |

Georgia education grants are granted to students of various fields of study. It is a well known fact that had it not been for grants and scholarships, and also student loans, higher education will be unattainable for most of the students, given the high cost of college education in the nation.
Students will naturally opt for grants and scholarship as these are both free money and does not have to be paid back where as student loans, sometimes with no interest and some loans with very small interest, but yet has to be paid back after graduation. A four year undergraduate course in a State University will cost about $80,000 and pay back would probably take the best part of your life.
If you live in George you will be eligible for more grants and scholarships than you are aware of. The Georgia HOPE program which is funded by the state lottery is one of the popular sources of financial assistance and is granted to students who are severely disadvantaged financially and who aspire to attend a public or a private college in the State of Georgia. Students of high academic excellence can receive a sum of up to $1500 at a private college or the full cost of tuition in a State university.
Georgia’s Tuition Equalization Grant Program is a grant awarded to undergraduate students who are enrolled for a four year program, in a private college or university in Georgia. An exception is made for students who do not have universities within 50 miles of the student’s home and if they attend a university within 50 miles which may go beyond the state boundaries, such students are also eligible for this grant.
Georgia’s LEAP (Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Grant) is awarded to Georgia residents with a severe financial need to help attend a public and private college, university of technical college in Georgia.
Apart from grants specific to the State of Georgia, every citizen of Georgia is also eligible to apply for grants and scholarships awarded through FAFSA.
Pell Grant which is offered to low income students,
The Federal Supplementary Education Opportunity Grant program awarded to students with most need,
The Academic Competitiveness (AC) Grant is also available for students who are eligible to receive a Pell Grant who are demonstrated academic skills and is granted over and above any other grants a student may receive,
National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (Smart) Grant which is awarded to students who are eligible for Pell Grants and who are majoring in physical science, computer sciences, mathematics, technology or engineering or a foreign language which has been identified as critical to national security.
Considering the opportunities available, students in various fields of study can certainly benefit from Georgia’s education grants. |
