About Educational Grants |
|
Educational grants help students pay their tuition fees, where the monetary assistance comes from the federal government. This assistance can be obtained by writing for an educational grant, explaining why the student requires the assistance and how it will benefit both the student and their community. Students wishing to obtain grants should research the different educational grants available and decide which ones best fit their needs. |

The role of federal and state grants when assisting schools |
|
The federal and state grants provide assistance to schools for the benefit of K-12 schools, educators and students. These grants are provided for schools within the United States.
Federal grants are extremely large and assist the entire school district through the Department of Education. When a child attends a public school, they are not required to pay a fee, but someone has to pay that fee and that responsibility has been taken over by the Federal government and the State. Most citizens do not realize the commitment the Federal government has made to the education system and how much of money is being spent per child who attend a public school. It is estimated that in 2001-2 the total spending per child was approximately $9.354 and it is safe to assume by 2008 it would have surpassed the $10,000 per child.
Federal government also assists by increasing the number of schools, by setting up schools in required locations. All related costs in setting up and maintaining schools are borne by the State through the Federal Government funding and other State funding including cost of the building, staff costs and other ancillary costs involved in operating schools.
Assistance provided through Federal and State grants are sometimes specific to the State and cannot be generalized. Assistance will be provided for:
Equipment assistance
Commonwealth – investing in our schools program (IIOSP) – to provide funding to replace, repair or install new items which are essential to the school.
Assistance to improve teacher effectiveness; to address distribution of highly qualified teachers for the low income and minority students who are presently taught by inexperienced teachers.
