About weight loss industry

The weight loss industry is booming these days with people trying different methods to lose weight and stay fit.

The Weight Loss Industry

Well, I don’t think you’d want to be working in the weight loss industry. No, it pays well and pays BIG time to own a business in the weight loss industry, but the rep of the industry as a whole isn’t all the too good. By just sitting down and thinking about all those ads and things they tell you, you’ll realize why this is! They make those ads in such a way that even the most healthy people will be made to feel that they are at risk of some disease whose name can’t even be pronounced! Would you believe that we Americans spend nearly $40 billion a year on weight loss programs and products?

Just to keep you on the safe side, here are some things which the weight loss industry never tells you:

1. You’re embarking on a ‘cash loss’ programme too…

I’m sure you’ve been gorging on all those nice delicacies during your holidays and came all jolly to your house and got on the weighing scale only to realize, to your horror, that you gained nearly 30 pounds! This ensures that you enroll in one of those weight loss programs, spending so many dollars, only to see the size of your wallet shrink, and not your weight. They make the courses sound so cheap, but you end up paying double the amount they advertise!

2. We’re extremely good liars

I’m sure you or someone you know has listened or watched one of those ads where they claim that you can reduce your weight by half by just drinking a liquid twice a day and do nothing else! This is all just a scam, and is often impossible to do, which just means that all those testimonials are just a lie. I mean, how can you ever lose 30 pounds in 30 days? You must be starving yourself big time!

3. Qualifications?

I’ve heard of some weight loss centres where, when you ask them for their qualifications or medical credentials, they just flash a photo, showing their picture before they joined the centre. This effectively makes people believe that, since he benefitted from the training programme, he’s good enough to train people! Make sure that they have proper qualifications, or else you may be paying for gaining weight!

4. We don’t print the truth on food labels

I’m sure you’ve seen those stuff in supermarkets where they say ‘better for you’, ‘lean’ and ‘lite’. These things are often misleading, and instead help to expand your waistline. Don’ t fall for these foods, and make sure you know someone who benefitted from such foods before you try them out yourself.
