About healthiest food

Natural food is the best element of eating healthy and maintaining good health for the entire family.

The Worlds Healthiest Food

1. Olive Oil

Did you know that most of the olive oil you consume is from Spain? Until recently, most of the olive oil from Spain has been packed and sold outside its borders, so that Italian Oil might actually be Spanish. The reason why Olive Oil is considered as extremely healthy is because it protects your heart from diseases by keeping a lid on LDL (bad cholesterol) and allows the HDL (good cholesterol) level to grow. It’s healthy to such an extent that the FDA allow olive oil manufacturers put a heart – health claim on the label (it’s an extremely small number of products which enjoy this privilege. Olive oil also has a compound which is also present in ibuprofen, which means that you get the same amount of benefits as small dosages of the drub, which includes less risk of heart attack, stroke, some varieties of cancer and even Alzheimer’s disease. It can also help in the war against breast and colon cancer.

2. Soy

A big favourite among the Japanese, who consume it during every meal (as opposed to never by us Americans), soy is packed with proteins and has a large content of isoflavones, an estrogen – like thing which helps to avoid cancer and osteoporosis, but the biggest benefit may be the fact that it’s good for your heart. The FDA allows any food which has a 6.25 gram content of soy to carry a heart – healthy message on the labels. Studies have even shown that the risk of breast cancer is reduced, which is why you see less Asians with the disease when compared to the Western women. However, be warned that women living in the US can increase the risk of breast cancer if your genes carry it!

3. Yoghurt

Yoghurt is extremely kind to your intestines, promoting their health and increases lactose intolerance. It also helps you to strengthen your bones, reduce the risk of common diseases, reduced BP and could even provide anti – cancer and weight – lost effects. A study by the International Journal of Obesity showed that obese people who had 3 servings of fat – free yoghurt daily as a complement to a reduced – calorie diet managed to lose 22% more weight and 61% greater body fat than people who just reduced calories. A good thing about Greek yoghurt (where yoghurt is part of their culture) is that it isn’t loaded with sugar like the yoghurt you find in grocery stores here. If you want to cut down the fat and calories, go for low – fat yoghurt.
