As you may have realized by now, diet plans don't come cheap; at least not the good ones, certified by professionals. But if you are a healthy person and just want to get an idea of how to improve your fitness without seeking professional help, there are free online diet plans that can help you.

1. Chet Day Diet Plan

Introduced in 1998, the creator of this plan claims that about 345,000 People Have practiced the detox diet. The plan requires will power on your part especially as it's a self-conducted program. For 21 days the participant will exclude dairy products and all animal food (except a tablespoon of cod liver oil on a daily basis), refined flour, sugar and salt. Now you know why this program isn't for just anyone. That leaves only fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds and whole grains as meal choices! As this is an extreme, short term program, pregnant ladies, nursing mums and non-adults should stay away.

2. The 3 Day Diet

This is a calorie limited diet that can make you lose 10 lbs in 3 days. As you can see, it's a very temporary program, and the results are likewise. If you need a quick fix for a party, this can help you. After the 3 days, you should go back to a normal (healthy) diet and stay away from over-indulging. This program encourages drinking water. It's not extreme but it still may not be the ideal diet for some people, like pregnant mothers. You can easily find the relevant information for free, online.

3. Calorie Watching Diet Programs

These can be found on few websites. i.e. changingshape.com. They offer programs that range from 1200 calories to 2800 calories. All you have to do it make your meals to conform to their plan, so that you will ingest a particular amount of calories on any give day. This won't be so hard if you are the type who loves to cook and experiment at it too. The sites that offer such plans usually give sample menus and their calorific values.

Here are some guidelines that pertain to these calorie watch diet plans:

1. You are better off eating 406 small snacks throughout the day rather than eating 3 main meals.

2. To have suitable ready everyday, do your grocery shopping a couple of days before and pack the food (especially breakfast) the night before, to ensure that you will not give up halfway through the program.

3. Start simply. The best way to do this is to start by counting calories. 4. Use variety. Mix fruits and vegetables according to their color so that you get all the antioxidants you need.
