Des Plaines Events Festivals And Attractions
Historically, Des Plaines was known to be Potawatomi, Ottawa and Chippewa Indian territory. Subsequent German immigrants brought with them the knowledge of farming and the railroad followed. Today, the city also known as the “City of Destiny” is home to a diverse community and has many events for all such as the holiday lighting ceremony, connecting generations and Veterans Day in November, the Tour De Des Plaines Community Bike Ride in October, Patriot Day Ceremony in September and many more during the beginning of the year. |

The city of Des Plaines in Illinois is approximately seventeen miles from Chicago. Hence the close proximity to major transportation such as, the Metra and Airport as well as the Pace Suburban Bus System. Commonly known as the “City of Destiny” the city is a great place to live with many religious places of worship offered to the diverse community with many faiths. In addition the city is home to several Fortune 500 companies offering secure and lucrative employment. Therefore the real estate is high priced but offers secure homes in very nice neighborhoods and a high standard of education within the school district. |
