| What is Antiaxiety |
We all go through many changes' difficult periods and problems in our lives. When facing these conflicts or difficult times' we encounter many problems and often may lose spirit or hope. The psychological effect of these encounters will definitely effect our health' not just mentally' but physically too. What is sad to note is that many of us often overlook or ignore such physical changes. Anxiety is a common physical condition that is often brought about by such situations.
What is Anxiety?
Anxiety can be defined as an overreaction to a situation or an event' where an individual expresses fear and distress in an unnecessary level. This feeling of uneasiness could be brought on by a psychological condition when it occurs more regularly on a more permanent level' but can also be a normal reaction to a certain difficult situation.
Symptoms of Anxiety
Different people express anxiety in different levels and their expression of anxiety also may be different. Some common physical symptoms brought on by anxiety include:
Breathlessness Stomach churning (butterflies in your stomach) Tensed muscles Shivering Dryness of mouth Queasiness
Permanent anxiety is considered a psychological disorder. Where as sudden panic attacks can be considered as a normal reaction to a situation' when a person expresses fear and worry constantly' even for a slightest incidence or situation' it is not a normal reaction. This type of anxiety should not be ignored as it can lead to anxiety disorder or in worse case' panic disorder.
Panic Disorder
Panic Disorder is repeated events of anxiety attacks in very severe form. They may last from 5 minutes to as long as 30 minutes.
Some symptoms of a panic attack include:
Feeling of choking Tightness of the Chest and severe pain Increased heartbeat Increased pulse rate Dizziness Nausea Flushed skin
Some panic attacks may lead to critical situations' therefore they should be avoided as much as possible.
What brings about such anxiety attacks?
It is an unusual triggering in our body brought on by a chemical imbalance' making us react to a situation in accelerated levels. Such chemical imbalances may be brought on by certain psychological conditions. Therefore' ‘mental status’ plays an important role in anxiety. People with stronger willpower and character have very less anxiety attacks' where as weaker personalities are more prone to them.
How to Control Anxiety?
Stress is a common reason for feeling anxious. If you are over-worked and not relaxed' you will often react anxiously even for a small incidence or event. Therefore it is important to take a break once in a while. Sudden anxiety attacks due to very difficult situations are normal' but if you start panicking for the slightest thing' then it is not good at all.
Following good practices or antidotes should help you to relax your mind and avoid anxiety attacks:
Take time out for relaxing on a regular level Get plenty of rest and sleep Exercise regularly Practice breathing exercises or take up Yoga Avoid alcohol and drugs Reduce your caffeine intake Face your fears and worries without avoiding them
Anxiety is a common reaction which we can control from taking over our lives and developing into a psychological condition. In a complex and corrupt world like today' anxiety is a reaction that cannot be fully avoided. But we can work on not letting it get the best of a situation and making us lose control over our lives.
