About Reasons For Depression: Reasons For Depression

Learn about the reasons for depression and why some people will be affected more adversely than others. Depression not only affects the person who is going through it, but also everyone around them, including friends, family, loved ones, spouses, and children.

Lifestyle changes and depression
There are many reasons for depression. Every individual in his or her life time will go through good and bad times. Some times when the situation is overwhelming grief turns to depression. Depression can be considered as a sickness and a state of mind where a person will feel down and sad.

The external environment is one main cause for a person to be depressed. The world is not a bed of roses' and there are events in life which will bring an individual down and try to keep him down. If there is one thing that is certain in life then that would be the fact that life itself is uncertain. There are many factors around us that cannot be controlled. These factors which cannot be controlled and the factors that can be controlled by us can influence a person in many ways.

Depression also depends on how strong in character an individual can be. If a person is not strong and is influenced easily then that person has a higher chance of being depressed due to a small incident. A stronger person might not be depressed easily' but the down side to it is that if and when such an individual is depressed people around him/her might not be able to see the initial symptoms. When an individual has a strong character they think that they should always be strong. This of course is a very wrong idea. Every individual will have to face a time when he feels that no matter how hard he tries he will end up on all four limbs. This is where a person needs help. It might not be medical help' but some times just talking to some one will do wonders.

Changes in life like loosing a loved one' migrating to a different land' loosing a job and so on can also lead to depression. Humans are used to routine. It is the normal law in this world. As Isaac Newton said “if there are no external forces acting on an object that object would remain still or move in a constant direction and velocity.” If there are no external forces a human being will also get into a comfortable groove. But sadly in life there are many external factors and pretty much all of them affect the way we live.

The best way for an individual to overcome these issues is to become as flexible as much as possible. This is of course much easier said than done' but just making an effort to move on and to make the best out of a bad situation is the best way to avoid falling down and taking time to get up once you are down.
