Major depression is known to be the most severe category of depressive disorders. In major depression quite a number of symptoms are present in a person' and is known to be more severe too. Major depression can occur once due to a psychological cause' and with prompt attention and treatment' one can expect to recover soon. Some can have a recurrence of depression' if they face another psychological trauma' and this can be episodic if and when they go through trauma.

A depressed person will always blame himself for failures' and think negatively and have a low self opinion. According to research many of the psychological causes are mainly associated with traumatic experiences in childhood and psychologists have found talk therapy has been a successful form of remedy and many have fully recovered to normalcy through this.

People' who have psychological and emotional disturbances' are asked to change their behavior and the way they think in order to make a difference in their lives. Cognitive Behavior therapy helps them to overcome the negative views they have formed of themselves by entertaining negative thoughts. Cognitive is described as the psychological result of the learning' perception and reasoning. It helps a person to change the way he thinks. It is not a simple procedure' as some may have to undo years of psychological trauma and beliefs. By changing the core belief' the overall perception to life can be changed.

Major depression' though considered a serious disease' it is treatable. Psychological factors unlike other causes are mostly man made and as such through complete investigation and treatment' they can be cured completely.
