| How the lose of a loved one affect a child |
Children are very much attached and most of the time depends on certain people like parents' guardians' family members or friends. Children' as we all know need a lot of attention and the loss of attention can make a child feel left out and lonely.
When a person who was close to a child passes away' it will affect the child in more than one way. How and in what way the loss of the loved one will affect the child will be determined by the strength and the capability of the child to handle situations. If the child has a strong character it might help the child to understand and adjust provided the proper amount of time is given. But just because a child has a strong character does not guarantee that the child will learn to move on. Every person has his/her limit and breaking point. The way the child reacts will depend upon how high the child’s threshold of pain is. If the child particularly was attached to the individual in question then this will also cause the child massive amounts of grief and loneliness.
Each individual will react to the same situation in different ways depending on the his or her mental capacity' strength and feelings. Some will go into state of solitude while others will search for more attention than before. If a child wishes to stay alone all the time and does not communicate much with any one else then the first thing to be done is for a loved one (who again is close to the child) to go and try to talk to the child. If this does not work then' give the child some space. Sometimes children (or even adults in some situations) come around better and stronger after a little bit of “alone time.” If the child does not seem to come back then the parents' guardian or friends should try to get through to the child.
If the child is looking for more attention and is stubborn than before' then there is another way to deal with the situation. In this kind of situation the child is looking for more attention than before. He/she will want to show that he /she is stronger and will become more stubborn and strong headed. In this kind of situation other loved ones should try and explain the situation and show that there are people who still love him/her. Love is one of the best medicines available. But if everything else fails it is important that the child receives professional help.
Most of the time losing a loved one will be tough on not only children but adults as well. The toughest and strongest of people have fallen and broken down due to the loss of a loved one. It is up to the other people who care about the individual to help him/her to deal with the situation. One of the best ways to do so is to show that there are people who still love and care for them. |
