A Recreation Vehicle (RV) offers many benefits to those who own them. The RVs available today are so advanced in terms of technology and sophistication that it provides travelers with the ease and comfort of a "home away from home". Though many regard RVs as a mode of mainly camping, it also allows people to engage in their favourite hobbies and activities.

RVs are a great transportation method for families. In today’s fast paced life it is difficult for parents to find opportunities to spend quality time with their families. Staying at home during weekends or vacations does not allow for this as there will be too many distractions such as household chores, telephone calls and errands. On an RV trip, the family will be away from these interruptions but they will still be able to enjoy the comforts of home living. Parents are able to spend some time by themselves and the children will be free from their own set of routine work such as sports practices, music lessons and school homework.

RVing is also an excellent way to strengthen family relationships. Surveys carried out have found that families that frequently went on RV holidays had improved communication between the members, promoted togetherness, allowed for bonding opportunities and reduced stress levels of family members. Parents also noted that RV trips provided children learning experiences, built better values in them, broadened their horizons and taught children to learn to respect nature.

Traditionally, vacations are taken in summer. But for RV owners, every weekend can be a vacation time. Since RVs provide all the essentials such as kitchens, bathrooms and sleeping space, making a trip requires minimal preparation and planning in advance. With the models available today many RVs provide ‘extras’ like air conditioning, radio, TV and even computers and gaming consoles.

When it comes to where you can travel in an RV, literally the sky is the limit. Due to the popularity of this mode of transport you can now find RV campgrounds and parks in almost any area you travel to. Beaches, parks and other popular tourist destinations are easily accessible in an RV. The motor homes and sport utility travel trailers available today mean RV owners can easily take their snowmobiles, motorcycles, ATVs and other outdoor transporters along with them. Apart from camping, traveling and recreation in the outdoors, you can use your RV for so many other activities throughout the year such as shopping trips, tailgate at sports events, visit auto races and shows that relate to your hobbies.

Traveling in an RV provides a more affordable mode of transport and accommodation. Even with the high fuel prices, RVing is still the most cost effective transport method available . Surveys carried out have shown an RV vacation costs 50% of a holiday you would travel by car, stay in a hotel and eat from restaurants. It is also 60% cheaper than train or bus journeys and low in cost than flying to the destination.

Summary - The benefits to be gained from traveling in an RV are such that buying an RV will be a great investment.
