Q. How long does a hair transplant procedure take?
Modern hair transplant procedures involve moving up to 3000 grafts, each containing 1-4 hairs, and each planted individually using microsurgical techniques. A single procedure can take 6-8 hours, with a team of six surgical assistants and the surgeon.
Q. What is the PRP treatment?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a substance obtained from a patient’s own processed blood, and used to enhance healing. While some centers offer this to hair transplant patients, there is no evidence that PRP offers any benefit to the process.
Q. Are the clients kept conscious during the procedure?
All our procedures are performed under local anesthesia. During a long procedure, the patient can watch a movie, read a book, or just relax.
Q. When will the newly transplanted hair start to grow?
The transplanted hairs will fall out after a few weeks. The new follicles then rest for about two months, followed by growth of the new hairs. Complete regrowth can take 6-12 months.
Q. When can the clients resume normal activities like washing the hair, going in the sun, etc.
After surgery, activities are limited for a few days, but the patient can shower the very next day. After 7-10 days, full activities can be enjoyed.
Q. Are there any simple outpatient procedures available?
While hair transplantation is a complex, long procedure, most of our other procedures are completed in 15-30 minutes, with virtually no down time. |
