Natural soap contains ingredients derived from herbs as well as indigenous plants. Natural acne soap is great for sensitive skin as it contains ingredients that solve the skin’s problems without being too harsh on it. With the right brand of natural acne soap the user can solve his/her skin problems in no time.

One thing that any person with very sensitive skin can do is to make their own natural acne soap. A basic soap has only 3 main ingredients- water, lye and some kind of fat and oil. If the user wants a more fragrant or attractive soap he/she can use coloring dyes as well as scenting oils. If carefully done with the right mix of ingredients, this kind of soap can work wonders on the skin and is cheap and affordable to almost anyone.

The only criterion for the water is that the water should be clean. The source of water depends on the user’s preference. This can range from tap water to rain water to even distilled water. This does not have any bearing on how effective the natural acne soap will be.

Even the oil can be taken from any source. Plant oils, hydrogenated fats or even animal fats can be used. When experimenting, people tend to find that plant oils such as coconut oil give a richer lather while animal fats give a denser soap. Olive oil when used in the natural acne soap tends to give fine silky bubbles that feel great on the skin.

The important thing when making the soap is the reaction between lye and the fat. This reaction has been coined the chemical term “saponification”. When heating both of these, care should be taken to add the fatting agents as soon as the mixture starts to thicken. Fatting agents are additional oils such as avocado oil, cocoa butter or even Shea butter. The solid think mixture can be put into molds and left to harden. After maybe a week of setting, the soap is ready to be used. It might have to be left a little longer to dry completely though this depends on the ingredients used.

If anyone wants to make their own natural acne soap, they should be sure to know exactly what each ingredient does. If the person has dry skin they can add a greater quantity of vegetable fats into the soap mixture. This makes the soap more moisturizing. If the user prefers a soap that will leave the skin feeling soft and smooth, glycerin soap might be the best option. This glycerin soap will cleanse the skin thoroughly without over drying it.

Scented natural acne soaps can be made by adding small quantities of essential oils to the final mixture. This could be sharp scents such as basil or peppermint or even a more softer scent such as Sage. A stronger more therapeutic oil such as coriander will help in the long run as the lye, used in natural acne soap, tends to develop a stronger smell over time.
