Born in New York City and raised in South Florida, Allison De Meulder dreamed of running her own business. She studied at Boston University’s School of Management before finishing her degree at the University of Tampa in 1996. She also received her Master’s of Business Administration in 1998.

The following year, Allison De Meulder left her job in marketing to start her own business. She set up the Invitation Consultants “headquarters” in the spare bedroom of her apartment and soon began meeting with local brides.

Allison soon realized the internet was a key vehicle for reaching out to brides – and other celebrators – all across the country. She set up a website and started selling customized printed invitations and announcements online. Allison’s husband, Olivier De Meulder, joined the company after two years and now serves as Vice President.

As Allison first began her company meeting one-on-one with customers, she wanted to maintain that same level of service and support for her online customers. Her strong belief in customer service is key to the day-to-day environment at IC.

Allison also has a passion for design. She, along with her team of designers, began designing for Invitation Consultants’ home-grown line of invitations in 2008, Red Leaf Papers. The line is constantly expanding and as of the close of 2010 is carried by 77 retailers throughout the U.S.

Allison enjoys spending her free time traveling with her family. She and her husband have twin nine-year-old sons and a two-year-old daughter.
