PIBS- THE DISPOSABLE PAPER BIB ON A ROLL!!
KEEP KIDS AND CLOTHES CLEAN ANYWHERE, ANYTIME!!!!!
By Melanie Patterson
"The concept for PIBS came to me after my son was born", says inventor/mom Melanie Patterson. "I used to stuff paper towels under his chin while giving him his daily dose of vitamin supplements with a medicine dropper. Unfortunately, he would spit it up all over the paper towels and me. I soon started searching the stores and catalogs for disposable bibs but wasn't able to find any. I had no choice but to use cloth bibs, which meant constant laundering and using stain remover for the really bad stains.
When my son was 6 months old, I returned to work as a preschool teacher, and I desperately wanted to find something to make my life easier. Finally, my husband suggested that I make my own disposable bib. After discussing several ideas and concepts with friends and coworkers at school, I came up with PIBS, paper bibs on a roll.
I met with a Patent Attorney and discussed with him the feasibility of getting a patent on the product and the steps involved in getting the product on the market. We discussed several options, and before I knew it the work began.
Over the next 4 years, I have researched, study, tested, marketed, and redesigned the PIB to what we have manufactured today. We have a website, http://www.pibsonaroll.com, and hoping to be in a chain of grocery stores in the Pittsburgh-Cleveland markets at the end of April."
