" Came in for teeth whitening and was taken care of very well by their staff. They were always very in tune to my needs and constantly asking if I needed anything. Their facility is very clean and modern --TVs and massage chairs were a nice surprise.
I will definitely come back for additional work in the future and will recommend them to my friends/family as well." - By Alzwang |
| Teeth Whitening Chicago : How to make your teeth whitening treatment last longer |
You've devoted time, money and effort to getting that gorgeous white smile. Let's make it last longer than two months! In fact, you can keep that bright white smile up to two years or more, depending on how well you take care of it. Whether you've had professional teeth whitening treatment in Chicago, or tried one of the many do it yourself products available on the market, maintaining the "whiteness" is possible if you care enough for your smile.
Ready to give your teeth whitening treatment a chance?
1. Watch what goes in your mouth! From the obvious staining food and beverages like coffee, sodas and red wine, to others like soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and berries and smoking in addition to all this, can spell doom for your white teeth. Wean yourself off these, or limit your intake as much as possible, and use a straw when you have to have that coffee if you want to maintain your smile. This makes sure that there is no contact between what you drink and your front teeth. Try to rinse your mouth with water, use a mouth wash or chew gum afterwards to remove the staining agents from your mouth. Consuming any staining food or beverage or smoking in the period immediately post treatment discolors your teeth instantly. This is because your teeth's natural defenses against staining are temporarily reduced due to the chemicals used to whiten teeth, so you have to take special care to avoid it. Also, try to eat food that is crunchy in their natural state- like apples, carrots and celery. Since these require lots of chewing, they remove built up plaque and food particles while you eat.
2. Use other dental whitening products to preserve the luster of your pearly whites. Daily use of whitening toothpaste, floss and mouthwash are essential as secondary aids. Ask your dentist to recommend products that will suit your oral condition ideally, and make sure you follow through!
3. Brush thoroughly, at least twice a day. Not doing so may be the reason that your teeth yellowed in the first place. Use toothpaste that contains fluoride and a toothbrush with soft bristles. Remember, each tooth has five sides to be cleaned. Your tooth brush usually gets at three sides, and the other two surfaces are harder to reach, which is why flossing becomes extremely important to clean teeth correctly. Use circular strokes with your tooth brush on each tooth; this removes surface stains on a regular basis. An electric tooth brush will make this job a whole lot easier. Don't forget to clean your tongue too, as it harbors plaque and bacteria that can attack teeth.
If you are serious about retaining that beautiful white smile, try implementing these tips. Visit your dentist at least twice a year for a complete oral check up. Maintaining healthy teeth should be your first goal. With proper care, you can be assured that the whiteness will last! |
