Q.Tell us about yourself and your practice?
A. I live in South Charlotte with my wife, Cori and our two children, Calli and Brock. We moved to Charlotte in 2005 from Atlanta GA , where I had practiced dentistry since 2001. We moved to Charlotte for two primary reasons - we thought it would be a great place to raise our family and I had a great opportunity to work with a small group of dentists, who held my same practice philosophy. Dr Tom Grimes, Dr Chris Phelps, Dr George Betancourt and myself have opened two dental offices in the Charlotte area bearing the name Advanced Dentistry. I work primarily in our Blakeney location.Our practice prides itself in offering the latest in dental technology and staying up to date with the newest trends in dentistry, so that we can provide the highest quality of care possible.
Q. Please explain the basic services you offer.
A. Because of our combined background and experience we are very adept at a wide variety of procedures and are able to offer our patients a solution to almost any dental problem. We offer routine cleanings, restoration of decayed and broken teeth, cosmetic dentistry , replacement of teeth with implants, invisible braces, sedation dentistry and wisdom teeth removal just to name a few.
Q.What patient resources do you offer? (example insurance filing)
A. Perhaps our best resource for our patients is our friendly staff. Our staff can find the answer to almost any question you may have. Our team members are trained to help our patients with dental education setting up payment plans, working on our patient 's behalf to maximize insurance reimbursements and making all of our patients, as comfortable as possible, during their visit.
Q.Do you offer cosmetic dental services? If so what type?
A. Cosmetic dentistry is one of the fastest growing areas of dentistry and probably my favorite, because it is so rewarding to transform a patient' s smile and see the positive effect it can have on their lives. Cosmetic services that we offer include, smile design, tooth whitening, straightening of crowded teeth with clear braces (Invisalign), replacement of missing teeth and reshaping teeth with veneers or bonding to create an ideal smile.
Q.How do dental sealants work?
A. Dental sealants are a plastic covering we can flow into the grooves of young adult teeth to prevent cavities. Permanent first molars typically erupt, when a child is 6 years old. These teeth usually have very deep grooves and are in the back of the mouth, where they are very difficult to keep clean. A dental sealant can eliminate these grooves making the tooth far less susceptible to cavities. Sealants are painless quick and relatively inexpensive.
Q.What is the best way to replace missing teeth and is an implant the substitute for missing teeth?
A. There are several ways to replace missing teeth and there are countless variables to consider, when determining the best option for tooth replacement. Dental implants are often the best substitute for missing teeth and can restore an area with missing teeth to function ideally.
Q. How much will it cost for a cosmetic makeover and what are the payment options available?
A. A cosmetic makeover can vary tremendously based on a patient's needs. Something as simple as a cleaning and tooth whitening can be accomplished for under five hundred dollars. My best advice is to schedule a free consultation with one of our doctors to discuss treatment options and fees.
Q. Do you offer after hour care and emergency services?
A. Yes we are open Monday through Friday and one of our doctors is always on call for our patients.
Q. Do you have multiple office locations within your community?
A. Yes we have an office at Blakeney (704 543 1102) near Ballantyne and in Matthews (704 845 1107). Our Blakeney office is at Rea Rd and Ardrey Kell Rd. across from 131 Main. The Matthews office is next to Presbyterian Matthews Hospital at the intersection of Sam Newell and Highway 51.
