Why is this office so messy?

My office is so messy, well because I had surgery on my knee two weeks ago and the kids were piling stuff up and I put stuff on my desk. My little corner of the world is just too small to keep everything organized when you have been really busy. Plus the cowboy hats are my boyfriends who thinks my space is a hat rack!!!!
