Sandy, your kind of positive strength is what everyone who is facing cancer and those who know someone facing it needs. I am sure your mom would have been very proud of you. I think no matter what medical progress is made the best support comes from those around the individual facing breast cancer or any other form of cancer. I have a friend who is going through cancer which was better but now is back so she is going through radiation as we speak.

I can't imagine how hard it would have been for you! Cancer is still the worst form of disease 1 can get

It was not breast cancer but a cancer in the brain. She was a very health person and none of us knew that she was having a brain cancer, a tumor until she collapsed. She only lived for 6 days after diagnosing it. It was too sad and I hate to think she’s no loner with us.

We can carefully say that experiencing more than one severe and/or mild to moderate life event is a risk factor for breast cancer among young women. On the other hand, a general feeling of happiness and optimism can play a protective role.
