How to Design a Logo

To make it in any business you need to stand out from the crowd. It’s simple as that. Ideally your products and services should stand out from the rest. A Logo is one of the important elements in your business that helps you achieve this.

Some of the major companies have attractive logos – Take multinational companies such as Coke, Nike, and Google etc. All of these companies have logos that people remember in a flash. What makes their logo’s extra special that keeps consumers coming back for? What have made those logos so famous?

An obvious thing that can be seen in all these logos is the fact that their all simple. Nothing fancy and over done. All of these logos are kept very simple and easy to the eye. That makes it easier to be remembered and triggered in consumer’s minds.

Whether your business is small, medium or large, a local corporation or a multinational organization, your company logo plays a big part in your success. Hence there are some guidelines that can be followed to achieve a unique, simple and eye catching logo.

  • Your logo should be simple and clear. Nothing too fancy or graphical. The simpler the logo is the easier it is to remember.
  • Simple designer guidelines should be followed in terms of text, form, color etc. These general principals are put in place so that your design is not confusing and proper form and texture is maintained with the design.
  • Should be effective in full colors as well as with black and white.
  • Should recreate the same essence and feel when recreated or printed on different material such as on company letterheads or t-shirts.
  • Should be able to produce the company’s integrity, image and overall company motto. If your company has a specific theme or vision it stands for the logo should be able to portray this without having to explain to a consumer.

No matter what industry or business your company is in your logo as mentioned before play a critical part in your business’s image. If you’re not a professional in creating a logo or even doesn’t have much experience in this it is always better to get a professional to create the logo based on your preference as the logo of your company will last as long as your business will.
