What you need to know before starting a sports bar business
A good sports bar business could possibly make losses for the first six months. However' the investment could be recovered by a period of about three to five years. When looking at this enterprise from a personal point of view' you should ask yourself whether you are the type of person who would like to own this type of enterprise. Of course' you don’t have to be the manager. However' you must ensure that the manager is trustworthy if you prefer to be a ‘hands off’ boss. In the beginning' you might have to be heavily involved in the enterprise' regardless of whether you want to be an active owner or not.

If you are the type of person who likes to do an office job where there is not much interaction with strangers' then this enterprise might not fit you. You have to be the type of person who enjoys interacting with people and giving them a pat on the back. Knowing your patrons personally' even if it’s just a simple 'Hi'' can ensure that they come back.

Another thing that you have to keep in mind is the amount of time you have to commit and the hours of operation. If you are the type who wakes up early' you might not like the fact that you may have to close only at about 3 AM or so. There will be some days where you might have to be at your enterprise when it opens (maybe at about 10 or 11 AM) until it closes (maybe about 3 AM the next day).

As can be seen from the above' it can take a serious toll on your family life and so you should have a discussion with your family before you commit to this enterprise. However' once you have got some managers and properly trained staff onboard' you can return to your normal schedule' but this could take between six months to one year.

This type of enterprise would generally have different menu options. These include burgers' sandwiches' appetizers and pizza. Since the most important thing in this enterprise is sporting events' this enterprise would generally have a number of TV sets. This is where owners tend to spend a lot of money' getting the likes of Plasma TVs or big 40 inch widescreen TVs to enhance the viewing experience. You will get good takings during popular sporting events such as the Soccer World Cup' the Olympics or even the Ryder Cup.
