Selection of the right a location for a bridal outlet is a decisive factor for the success of the business. The more research you carry out on a location' the better it will be. All bridal shops are not necessarily successful and some of them attribute it to a poor location.

The following points will help you to locate the ideal site:

1. A well-known and popular location which has a considerable amount of public traffic will have a good customer base.

2. The population of the prospective location should be considered. The age of the population is also important. This information is available at the U.S. Census Bureau or local and state agencies.

3. Median income of the population of the area will indicate the affordability of the population. A large population with a high income has a better chance of success.

4. There should be sufficient parking to enable customers to access the salon without inconvenience. Customers will be discouraged if they cannot find parking in the location. Neither are they happy if they are compelled to park a few blocks away.

5. Depending on the clients you cater to' a location with access to public transport will be beneficial.

6. Location should have sufficient area to accommodate your inventory' bearing in mind that bridal dresses are rather bulky.

7. Find out whether the competition in and around the area will be a threat to your business. Also' whether there will be sufficient business for another outlet in the proposed location.

8. Whether the rental and lease cost is relative to the costs stated in your business plan. If there is a big variance' you might need to reconsider.
