One may argue that the demand for Economics as a subject of higher studies has decreased rapidly over the years. In fact the statistical data reveals the demand for degrees in Economics has declined about 30% during early 90’s in USA. Although it enjoyed a slight recovery during 2000-2004 the general trend for Economics degrees have been downward. In fact, the aim of this article is not to discourage some one who is interested in studying for an associate degree in Economics but to encourage them to pursue their goals with confidence since there are definite reasons why he or she should do so. However before you select a degree in Economics, you should assess whether you like it or not. Although a high paying job is not guaranteed with a Degree in Economics, a graduate may find himself or herself left with more opportunities than their counterpart who is focused on business studies.
