Hello Readers,

Hope everyone is thawing out from the big freeze.  I found it quite funny last week when the news reported that Hawaii was the only state without snow on the ground.  Wonder if that will happen again in my lifetime?  Not something people in Florida expect to hear in the first place!     

After almost 10 years at Bizymoms, it's not often that a new business opportunity crosses my path, but today's interview was a new one for me.  I checked out the website and was impressed by the unique and colorful selection of bags. And who doesn't love personal monograms and embroidery right?  So check out Jennifer's interview and her website. I'm sure it will give you some great ideas for your own business or personalized gift giving.

What kind of Business do you run? Thirty-One Gifts / direct sales.

When did you start it? May 2009.

Why did you start it? As a hobby. I just haven't been able to stop and now I love every part of this company. From the products to the up line support to company message to all the
awesome women I have met since I began. I have no plans to stop now!

What was your inspiration? The enrollment kit was priceless. What I got for the initial investment was too good to pass by. I knew that I couldn't buy all that came in the enrollment kit for that price!

How much capital in terms of resources did you invest to start up your business? $99 for $300 worth of product, plus business tools and paperwork necessary to get business up and running.

Who are your main customers? What demographic are they mostly from?
Business women and moms.

What do you feel are the basic goals that a business such as yours should reach in
the first year?
The beauty is that you can achieve anything you set as your goal. It could be a
part time postition all the way to career change depending on how much effort you
want to invest.

For anyone who wishes to start their own WAH business in the same industry as yours
what are your top three pieces of advice?
Never give up.....Always set goals and stick with them....Never stop sharing your passion.

Has this business venture allowed you to spend more time or less time with your
family?
It is the same. I was a stay at home mom, but now I can actually contribute financially to our household income.

What are the top three marketing strategies that you employed to achieve success for
your business?
Carry your products/ best advertisement....Share your passion.....Put your name on everything you distribute.

What goals are next for your business? This is my business...no next!
Where do you see your business in another 10 years? Sr. Executive Director.

benefits to the customer/consumer. Variety of handbags and totes/ many choices....personalization on products - makes it unique to fit your style....quality products /-keeps people satisfied and wanting more choices.

Has your business been recognized in any way by the media or any awards
organization? If so please state how you were chosen and what kind of recognition
your business has achieved.
I just began with this business the last week of May and was promoted to Director within six months.

How many times a year do you offer special discounts on your products or services?
When?
The company provides discounts and incentives every month. These discounts are
always provided by the company and never out of consultant pockets!!!
