What kind of Business do you run? Chic online boutique selling casual clothing items and accessories for women

When did you start it? September 2006

Why did you start it? We began to notice more and more that there are two extremes available in terms of fashion -- overpriced quality clothing or cheaper low quality items. There were very few brands filling in the most lucrative segment -- quality fashion at
good prices.

What was your inspiration? Having always loved fashion, we were inspired by the thought of providing all women with the means to add chic style to their wardrobes.

How much capital in terms of resources did you invest to start up your business? Passion, creativity and hard work were the primary resources needed to start up this business.

Who are your main customers? What demographic are they mostly from? SophistiX targets trendy young women between the ages of 18 and 35. These women
are stylish, confident, sociable and internet savvy.

What do you feel are the basic goals that a business such as yours should reach in
the first year? 
Create your brand around a quality product and set up its basic values. Begin to create an emotional connection between the product and your customers.

For anyone who wishes to start their own WAH business in the same industry as yours
what are your top 3 advice tips?
 
Start with a good idea and be prepared to work hard all the time. Hold your head high in the face of opposition.

Has this business venture allowed you to spend more time or less time with your
family?
 Since we work together with our family, we are always together and definitely we
spend more time together.

What are the top three marketing strategies that you employed to achieve success for
your business?
 The first step was to create a user friendly and well designed website. After that to get the word out, we used a mix of online (and offline) social networking as well as online advertising.

What goals are next for your business? Move forward, build a larger client base and maintain and grow our relationships with our existing customers

Where do you see your business in another 10 years? In ten years, we hope that SophistiX will be a brand that is well known and recognized by young women all over the world.

benefits to the customer/consumer. 
We envision a world where every woman can exude an effortlessly chic look at all time. We provide a full range of women\'s fashion apparel and accessories from tops and dresses to necklaces and scarves. Our collection is fast-paced and always evolving. In-house designing and manufacturing provide us with maximum flexibility and control. In practical terms this means that our life cycle from design to actual
product is half that of most major brands. This allows us to stay on top of emerging
trends and quickly make available the latest runway trends. Additionally, we provide
a wide range of sizes from XS to 3X to cater to every woman. We aim to deliver an
excellent product through a fully integrated and exciting shopping experience.

Has your business been recognized in any way by the media or any awards
organization? If so please state how you were chosen and what kind of recognition
your business has achieved.
 Our clothing items have been featured in various online magazines and blogs.

How many times a year do you offer special discounts on your products or services?
When?
 As we like to stay on top of the latest fashions, our collection moves quickly.
Thus each month we will clear out older items at sale prices. Additionally, every
month there is a special promotion on the website.
