When did you start it? January 2007

Why did you start it? To network with others who are trying to maintain a work-at-home job like I was.

What was your inspiration? My children - to network with others and learn ways to be successful working at home will only allow me the flexibility to be with them.

Who are your main customers? What demographic are they mostly from? Work-at-home-moms; women in direct sales, home based business. We have three chapters in the Houston area.

What do you feel are the basic goals that a business such as yours should reach in
the first year? Growth and renewals .. You need to be growing but you need to make sure that the current membership is happy.

Has this business venture allowed you to spend more time or less time with your family? It has allowed me more time at home instead of an office job and I take my oldest daughter with me to shows and expos; it shows her how she too can be an independent business women in the future.

What are the top three marketing strategies that you employed to achieve success for
your business?

1. Competitive rates with other networking organizations
2. Flexibility to meet the needs of many different direct sales business
3. Open door policy - be the example that I want my organization to be.

What goals are next for your business?

To launch a fourth chapter in 2009.
To double our current membership in the next two years

Where do you see your business in another 10 years? I would love to see our organization turn into a national organization with networking chapters all across the United States.

When? Quarterly - Alot of times prior to an event

It's a great networking group. There are guest speakers, educational topics that will help promote the business, leads are shared, craft shows and fair information is shared.

I''ve enjoyed meeting women with a large variety of businesses, and enjoyed sharing
my business with them.

Houston WAHMS is a wonderful organization which promotes moms who want to work from
home and helps them achieve their goals! Very interactive and supportive!
