What kind of Business do you run? Cosmetics

When did you start it? March 2008

Why did you start it? To be able to stay home with my seven children.

What was your inspiration? Helping other mothers be able to stay with their children.

How much capital in terms of resources did you invest to start up your business? $29 to start up. I didn't have to buy product; I was able to earn $350 in product free with my first catalog party.

Who are your main customers? What demographic are they mostly from? 
Mostly middle class women.

What do you feel are the basic goals that a business such as yours should reach in the first year? Within the first year you should be making enough money to be working mostly from home if not entirely from home; usually only about 10-15 hours a week.

For anyone who wishes to start their own WAH business in the same industry as yours
what are your top 3 pieces of advice?
 Find a company with thorough and on-going training. Find a consumable product so you get re-orders. Make sure it's a product you would recommend whether you are selling it or not.

Has this business venture allowed you to spend more time or less time with your family? Much more time!

What are the top three marketing strategies that you employed to achieve success for your business? Word of mouth. Educating people about good skin care. Being a product of the product (I have amazing skin now).

What goals are next for your business? To continue helping other mothers be able to stay home with their families and to earn a Mercedes.

Where do you see your business in another 10 years? Being very prosperous! Taking me to a house with enough rooms for each of my children plus a library for myself.

Name the top 3 products and/or services your business provides and their respective benefits to the customer/consumer. Our anti-aging line has products for women, men, and before sun care. They are proven to work and are pure, safe, and beneficial. You see results right away with some of the products and will be amazed at how your skin looks even just after a few weeks of use.

Has your business been recognized in any way by the media or any awards organization?If so please state how you were chosen and what kind of recognition your business has achieved. Many books have mentioned Arbonne for their superior products and their compensation plan for their consultants.

How many times a year do you offer special discounts on your products or services? When? Every client has the option to purchase products at 20% discount by becoming a preferred client. I will also offer a 15% discount on promotional baskets during holidays.

Share with us two positive feedback comments your customers have said about your product and/or service. A mother of 5 said, "I will never use another diaper rash cream again!" An associate for a major corporation told me after a spa party, "I couldn't stop rubbing my feet, they were so soft and smooth!"
