What kind of Business do you run? Online boutique of specialty bows and headbands,
geared towards baby girls and toddlers.

When did you start it? February 2008.

Why did you start it? The idea for the company happened out of necessity. Even if I dressed my daughter in pink from head to toe, people would still come up and ask me if she was
a boy or a girl. I needed to find a pretty bow to put in her hair that would put an
end to all the questioning!

What was your inspiration? It started after the birth of my daughter Angel Lily.

How much capital in terms of resources did you invest to start up your business? Since my business is based out of my home, start up costs are low as there is no overhead.

Do you have a website for your business? If yes please provide it. www.angellily.ca

Who are your main customers? What demographic are they mostly from? They are mothers like myself, looking for a sweet little accessory for their baby girls.

What do you feel are the basic goals that a business such as yours should reach in
the first year?
My basic goals were to get the "Angel Lily" brand out there, and to let it grow.

For anyone who wishes to start their own WAH business in the same industry as yours
what are your top 3 pieces of advice?
Keep your head up, be organized and ensure the best customer service possible.

Has this business venture allowed you to spend more time or less time with your
family?
Since I work from home, my schedule is very flexible. I can watch my two little
angels, while maintaining my business.

What are the top three marketing strategies that you employed to achieve success for
your business?
Having a well-designed website, word of mouth and of course, networking, networking and more networking.

What goals are next for your business? My goals are to continue growing, and to continue developing my clientele.

Where do you see your business in another 10 years? Hopefully, in 10 years, "Angel Lily" will become a household brand recognized internationally.

Name the top 3 products and/or services your business provides and their respective
benefits to the customer/consumer
. With fashionable flair reflecting up-to-the-minute seasonal trends, each bow and headband has been created with the toddler in mind. Making safety a priority, bows are a minimum of two inches in length, making them very difficult to swallow. The glue used for the designs is toxic-free and the bows’ metal clips are lead free. Baby-fine hair won’t be pulled or damaged thanks to the soft velvet that encases
each metal clip. Bows stay in place for hours, ensuring that little darlings always look their best.

Has your business been recognized in any way by the media or any awards
organization? If so please state how you were chosen and what kind of recognition
your business has achieved.

Our bows have been featured in newspapers, national magazines, television, as well as online blogs.

How many times a year do you offer special discounts on your products or services?
When?
We usually offer a special discount during holidays such as Easter, Mother's
Day, Father's Day, etc. For an order of two bows or more, we offer a free bow
that matches the spirit of the holiday taking place.

Share with us two positive feedback comments your customers have said about your
product and/or service.
"I can relate - people are constantly asking me if my baby is a boy, even when she is in a dress! I bought a few Angel Lily bows and headbands to try on my daughter. She usually doesn’t like clips in her hair, but she is happy to wear the Angel Lily
bows. I love them because she looks SOOOO CUTE in them!!"

"A friend of mine sent me these bows as a gift for my one-year old daughter, Sarah.
She knew I had been searching for bows that would stay in Sarah's baby fine hair.
These Angel Lily bows are AMAZING!! They really hold well in Sarah's hair and they
are so soft and gentle that they don't pull out any of her precious hair. I have
already ordered some more, which was a tough job because there are so many adorable
styles to choose from! I love the Angel Lily bows and I am recommending these to
everybody!"
