Q. How long do you take to process a divorce?
A.Generally, a divorce process in Alabama will take about 45 days.
Q. Do you offer a free consultation?
A. We charge $100 consultation fee, which if hired will utilize towards the attorney fees.
Q. What is your billing and payment procedure?
A .We require half of our fees upfront and will send an invoice before submitting the final documents to the court. All other costs e.g., court fees will be the client’s obligation.
Q. How does one begin the divorce process?
A. We begin the process by first interviewing the client and discussing possibilities of having child support, custody or alimony.
Q. Who receives custody of the children in a divorce?
A. The child support is calculated based on Rule 32 guideline in Alabama.
Q. How is child support determined?
A. Age, education, health, what child has been accustomed to, stable residency and employments are other factors.
Q. Is there a relationship between seeing the children and payment of child support?
A. Parents do have a right to visit their children regardless, although one could argue that if the non custodian parent wants to visit with his or her children they must also be paying for their support.
