A. Labiaplasty may resolve the problem of painful sexual intercourse and will correct the stretching and laxity that occurs over time and as a result of childbirth. Q. What will take place during the consultation for labiaplasty?
A. During any surgical consultation, our staff will take a full medical history of the patient and we will do a complete examination of the area to be improved. For a labiaplasty consultation, the patient will need to disrobe from the waist down and wear a disposable gown to permit the most comfortable examination. During any consultation where clothing is removed, there will be a female member of my staff present in the room at all times and we are always willing to accommodate special needs and requests.
Q. How long does labiaplasty take?
A. The actual surgery will take about an hour with about another hour required for pre and post operative care.
Q. Is there pain during the recovery for labiaplasty?
A. Most patients experience minimal to no pain during and following the surgery.

A. Most patients are able to work the very next day.

A. As with any surgery, any risks or complications are discussed with the patient during the consultation. The potential for risks/complications is generally low with this type of surgery.
