An Interview with Dr. Bruce Vafa on Lumineers

Dr. Bruce Vafa is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Lumineers.

Q. What are Lumineers?

A. Lumineers are the brand name of porcelain Veneers which are made in a very thin thickness to avoid shaving the tooth down. Lumineers are offered by Denmat Company and our office is  Lumineers Certified in Beverly Hills.

Q. How are Lumineers different from traditional veneers?

A. Lumineers are made at the minimum thickness and they present the ultimate shade and amazing natural color at the very thinnest porcelain.

Q. Is the Lumineers procedure painful?

A. No. Mostly we do not need to numb the patient for the whole procedure.

Q. Can one get Lumineers instead of braces?

A. if the space loss of the front crooked teeth is less the 4 mm, lumineers is an option for front tooth cosmetic, but for bone deformation or any over or under bite Lumineers is not an option for braces or Invisalign.

Q. How long will Lumineers last?

A. Between 10 to 20 years. But it depends directly to the patient's oral hygiene. If the patient is a grinder, Lumineers or any other porcelain veneers is not appropriate.

Q. Can Lumineers be taken off if I want them removed?

A. Yes. but it is better to get the diagnostic wax-up ready before making any decision to get the veneers. Diagnostic Wax -Up is the dental model of the ultimate dental model made of white wax, exactly looks like a real tooth, and shows the patient how the teeth look like before getting started with the treatment.

Q. How much do Lumineers cost?

A. Between $1000.00 to $1200.00 including the Consultation, Digital Xray and full arch Diagnostic Wax-Up.
