1. What made you start a blog on celebrities and their fashion and style?

JESSICA: One day, Heather and I were shopping, and all the posters at the mall were totally hideous. So we joked to each other that maybe "fugly" was in fashion now. We found this much more amusing than it actually is, so we started the blog as a joke - we never thought anyone else would read it!

2. What’s the story behind your unique blog name?

JESSICA: Honestly, I can't remember how we came up with it, other than that we have a fondness for puns. I think it's memorable, but I also think if I'd known I was going to have to tell my mother about it, I might have called it something else!

3. What makes your blog unique among other celebrity fashion blogs?

JESSICA: Well, we've been doing it for a long time, so people know what to expect from us. I think our write-ups tend to be a bit more esoteric than others - we have a tendency to go off on random tangents about anything from Sweet Valley High to weird things that happened to us at the mall, so our readers really kind of have gotten to know us as people. We also do a fun tournament every March - Fug Madness - that's like the NCAA basketball [tournament], but with celebrities, and that's pretty unique.

4. In general, what do you think of celebrity red carpet fashion and style?

JESSICA: I always find it interesting to see what people choose to wear out of the house. What you wear is very much a reflection of the persona you're trying to convey, and it's always fascinating to try and figure out the message that each celebrity is trying to express about themselves. Other than that, I love it when people look crazy.

5. What do you think of the recent awards functions’ celebrity red carpet fashions?

JESSICA: I thought the Globes were surprisingly low key, and the Oscars bought with them some really interesting, usual choices, which was refreshing. Even if you didn't like what Zoe Saldana or Diane Kruger wore, it was nice to see people taking a chance on the red carpet again.

6. When you provide comments on celebrity fashion and clothes, what do you look for in them? What makes them good or bad for you?

JESSICA: It really varies from outfit to outfit. I try to take them each individually, and decide if that specific outfit works on that specific person. There are no overarching guidelines, although I always advise people to wear something that actually fits them properly, regardless of what it is!

7. Which celebrities would you name as the best with fashion and style sense?

JESSICA: I think right now, I'm loving Zoe Saldana, though I didn't like the dress she wore to the Oscats. Carey Mulligan is quite interesting as well - she isn't always right, but she's always interesting. I feel similarly about Diane Kruger.
